Indulging myself at the bathroom.

Well, to start with the products that have melalecua oil, we have Melaleuca's natural bath and body products. These are products that you use day to day, you might probably find similar products on the shelves at the supermarket, but none with melaleuca oil, and few with natural ingredients.

I've started using the Naturals series of products. The Naturals Exfoliating Body Bar is a great starter. With its unqiue blend of oatmeal and other natural exfoliators, it facilitates the gentle removal of dry, old skin; and also aloe and glycerin helps to moisturise, and nourish, leaving hte the skin soft and hydrated all day. There's another bath product, which is the Naturals Green Tea Body Shampoo. It contains several botanical extracts, green tea and aloe vera and like the Naturals Exfoliating Body Bar, it moisturises and soothes the skin, and combined together with the pleasant and soothing aroma of green tea, provides a great bathing experience.

Moving on to the hair products, there's the Naturals Melaleuca Oil Shampoo, and the Naturals Herbal Shampoo. Both shampoos contain natural conditioners such as wild cherry bark, sage and rosemary which results in volume and control. To top off the Naturals series, there is the Naturals Invisible Solid Deodorant to keep you confidently fresh.

I shall move on to the next range of bath products, which is the Sun Valley series. There is the couple of Sun Valley Refirming Hand Cream & Sun Valley Firming Body Lotion. Both these products contain the patent pending Hydrating Fruit Complex and natural antioxidants, various vitamins and essentials to reduce the appearance of age spots, blotches, as well as help to protect against future damage. That Amazing Tea Tree Oil!

So much about the edible products from Melaleuca, I shall now share some knowledge on that amazing tea tree oil from the Melaleuca alternifolia. The pure tea tree oil from Melaleuca alternifolia works hand in hand with the body, not against it. There are just so many applications that you can associate the melaleuca oil with, I don't know where to start with! Anyway, to put it in short, melaleuca oil is a clinically proven anti-fungal and anti-bacterial substance. On top of that, melaleuca oil can be used as a powerful antiseptic, parasiticide and insecticide. Melaleuca oil has a long history, dating back centuries ago, long before Australia was discovered . The Aborigines used it, along came Captain Cook, he used it; then during WWII, it was labelled a miracle healer, becoming medically recognized worldwide in the process, for the successful treatment of a whole range of conditions including: ear,nose,throat infections, nail infections, skin infections, haermorrhages, veterinary applications etc.

In modern day, some of the applications of melaleuca oil has been retaine, while some others have evolved into other concoctions, so as to either enhance its potency, or to adapt to different applications. Melaleuca oil is well-known for its versatility, and these days it can be found in anti-bacterial soaps, acne creams/lotions, oral/dental products, hair care products, parasiticide & insect repellent, anti-fungal creams, footcare products, personal care products, anti-inflammatory agents, agricultural applications, household and laundry cleaners etc. Well, but do take note, that there are more than 150 species of Melaleuca tree, so do make sure it's nothing else but Melaleuca alternifolia. I'll share my experience with these melaleuca oil products in the next few posts. I just simply love them!

Eye Armour - Nutrition for the Eyes

As an optometrist, I've come across patients who wanted to know more about supplements for the eyes. The main areas of concern were:

1. Their growing children's eyesight (Singapore has the highest prevalence of myopia in the world)

2. Age-related eye health problems (eg. Age-Related Macular Degeneration, cataracts etc)

At the moment, a variety of eye supplements already exist on the market, containing mainly antioxidants, a range of vitamins, bilberries, wolfberries, blueberries, gingko biloba extracts, just to name a few. As mentioned earlier, I consumed these Access Performance Bars (I got the mint chocolate, there's also peanut butter available) right before exercise. So I guess Cellwise might be a much better alternative to drinking many cups of green tea to obtain the antioxidants in the diet. As for Florify, it contains probiotics (good flora ie. good bacteria) to boost the probiotic levels in the digestive system. From my knowledge, Florify serves to enhance the body's ability to absorb nutrients from our food and supplements, relieve occasional indigestion and also other related abdominal discomfort and cramps.

Anyways, after I took the Vitality Pack, Florify and Cellwise, I stayed up till about 2am to finish up some work. I had to wake up at 5am the next morning as I had to continue with my work. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself not the least tired at all, even though I had only slept for 3 hours before that!
